What did I learn in the course?
After the course, I have learnt how to create a proper CLIL or CRLL lesson; I have understood how important is to teach a language using meaningful materials and how the language you teach should be adapted to the content you are teaching and not the other way around.

How has the course impacted my future teaching and ideas? How has it contributed to my development as a teacher?
Actually, one of the things that really shocked me during the course was the one in which some of our classmates tried to teach us Maths in another language. Even though our classmate did a great job and used a lot of gestures and visual support, I felt very frustrated trying to understand and
learn something. However, she did not give up and at the end I was able to produce some words using the language. Therefore, from my point of view, trusting your students is crucial in a content-rich class. Moreover, this experience really opened my eyes, and made me see that you need to be very patient. After the lessons, I do think that using good content-rich materials can impact our student in a very positive way and therefore, I will try to use them with my future students.

What have I learnt with the project and how has it made me rethink/reshape my role as a language teacher?
I have learnt that preparing a CLIL session is not easy, that you need to take into account a lot of aspects and also, that it requires time, patience and, of course, motivation. However, after implementing it, if you ‘put’ all the ingredients mentioned before and you see how everything works, it can be really satisfactory.

How have I participated in the course project?
We have worked collaboratively, looking for the topic and sharing our ideas for the design of the materials. Although I don’t speak Italian, I also helped Fernando practicing the teaching performance. I listened to him as if I were a student, and told him what I did not understand or where to include more gestures to clarify ideas.
